Five-Star Condo/Hotel on Track to Open December 2008
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands – 27 September, 2007 – Apollo Development Ltd. today changed the name of the luxury condominium/hotel it is building in Grace Bay from The Watermark to Wymara. The property is the first and only member of The Preferred Hotels & Resorts collection in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Known internationally for superior quality, service and luxury standards, the Preferred Hotel Group includes more than 300 hotels in 52 countries and already includes a property named The Watermark. To avoid confusion and ensure the resort is distinguished within the global market, the developers chose to change the name.
Preliminary focus group research showed that the name Wymara evokes a sense of tranquility and individuality with a touch of the exotic – the same qualities that the developers want to associate with the property and today’s vacationers are seeking.
“Wymara communicates much more vividly and immediately the intrinsic characteristics of our development that make it unique and compelling,” said Rob Ayer, managing director of Apollo Developments. “Nothing else changes but our name. Our vision and strategy remain the same. We are still focused on combining a passion for design with an intense commitment to five-star service to create a luxurious, contemporary retreat with one of the most stunning views on earth. In fact, construction has been going well and we’ve been able to make important environmental upgrades that will further distinguish Wymara.”>
Wymara
Wymara is being developed for the new era in travel, where vacationers seek the individuality of distinctive hotels and resorts - yet desire a consistent commitment to excellence. The developers have taken every measure to ensure that the property is not only a first-class luxury resort but also a solid investment for owners.
Membership in the Preferred Collection brings a competitive advantage through the brand’s prestige and global operating scale. Wymara will be managed by one of the top hotel operators in the world, Prism Management, ensuring operational excellence for both owners and guests. Environmentally-friendly upgrades, such as energy conservation measures and waste management systems have been incorporated to help ensure economical running of the property. Plus, the developers invested in making the adjacent parkland a protected site, ensuring that Wymara guests and owners will forever be able to enjoy unobstructed views and privacy.
Construction on Wymara is well underway and on track to open in December 2008. Because of the large 60-foot spacing between buildings, every unit at Wymara has a spectacular view. The third floor has been poured and the three-bedroom model unit will open in mid-December, 2007.
